Hi there! A little about me: In the early 1970's-1990's I raised and showed collies, writing and doing photos for a specialized magazine. How ironic that now my household consists of one toy poodle and a rat terrier rescue!
Life took a turn in the 2000's and allowed me the opportunity of concentrating more on my passion of writing and photography and most important--enjoying my two grandsons! I found myself so busy taking photos of them, it was an easy step when folks started asking if I'd do work for them. It's been an adventure and I look at each assignment as 'art' in making! I've also had the pleasure of working with networking clubs as their event photographer. As much as I love taking shots of people, nature photography holds a special place in my heart because this is what allows ''me'' to slow down, put the computer aside, and connect with the environment. I find it absolutely amazing how much there is to see in our wonderful area!
My burning passion is to capture the beauty that I see and be able to represent it in such a way that the viewer feels the awe as well. I want my final rendition to result in a visual poetry that weaves hidden words, lines, dramatic color and textures of the surrounding scene. The painter in me has been known at times to surface to create an impressionistic version of the subject matter.
I have had the pleasure of photographing some of Nature’s grandest scenes all the way from Death Valley, Yosemite, Sequoia National Park, Mono Lake, Oregon, Alaska and Canada. It is indeed a wonderful word! My award winning photographs have been displayed in galleries and have been shown in local papers and magazines. I also am a member of the National League of American Pen Women Santa Clara County branch and serve as their vice president, publicity and web master.
